Barn Conversion, Kent

Under permitted development legislation we received planning permission to convert an existing agricultural barn into 3 houses.

The timber structure of the original barn has been retained and can be enjoyed in different ways throughout the building, exposed and hidden in different areas. The living space opens up to the full height of the barn, while the bedrooms are lit from rooflights above.

Small Barn Conversion, Kent

This stable has been converted into a two-bedroom, fully accessible, annex for elderly relatives.

The original roof structure and sarking boards were retained and celebrated, with a new roof built over. The old hay manger has been repurposed as guarding for the mezzanine, which provides much-needed extra space and a camping platform for the grandchildren. This is a very modern, low carbon home, but the beauty and charm of the original building can still be enjoyed, with the timber roof structure creating a warm canopy above the living space.
